Where the underwater world is more beautiful. The ocean is a rich underwater world In which sea is a rich underwater world

 • 29.09.2020

In theory, scuba diving is possible in any body of water. But diving will not be interesting everywhere. The rich underwater world is a distinctive quality of many seas. The diversity of marine flora and fauna in the southern regions is especially striking. As for rivers and lakes, they, as a rule, are not of interest to diving enthusiasts.

What seas and oceans have the most beautiful underwater world?

Of course, the Red Sea is distinguished by a wide variety of flora and fauna. Its waters are home to over 1000 species of fish and more than 130 species of coral. Coral reefs stretch along the coastline of the Red Sea for hundreds of kilometers.

Diving in this sea can be practiced at any time of the year. That is why divers from all over the world come to rest in the resorts of Egypt and Israel. The water in the Red Sea is always warm enough. Even in winter, its temperature does not drop below + 18 ° C. And in summer, the water warms up to +25 ... + 28оС. For first-time scuba divers, diving in Egypt is an unforgettable experience.

There are excellent diving sites in the Caribbean, which is part of the Atlantic Ocean. However, unlike Egypt, vacationing in the Caribbean is very expensive. The Caribbean is located in a tropical climate zone, so many of its inhabitants are thermophilic endemic and are not able to survive in other bodies of water. The average annual temperature of the surface water layers in the Caribbean Sea is + 23 ... + 28оС.

Scuba diving in the Atlantic Ocean near the Canary Islands is quite interesting. Stingrays, moray eels, barracudas, groupers, tuna, octopus, squid, lobster, lobster and cuttlefish can be seen in the coastal waters of the Atlantic. Diving in the Atlantic Ocean is possible only in the absence of severe storms. Due to the cold currents, you should dive in a wetsuit even in summer.

Diving in Thailand

Some diving enthusiasts prefer to relax in Thailand. The diving season in the Andaman Sea lasts from November to May. This is due to the fact that visibility under water is significantly impaired in other months. And in the eastern part of the Gulf of Thailand, you can dive with scuba diving at any time of the year.

In the Andaman Sea, divers can see stingrays, octopuses, whale sharks, moray eels. There are coral reefs in the Gulf of Thailand, but it is not the coral that attracts divers most of all, but the opportunity to see sunken cargo ships. To admire the seaweed overgrown ships, divers go to the Pattaya area and dive into the water area of Ko Tao.

The color of the Earth, as the astronauts assure, is blue. It could not be otherwise: two thirds of its surface is covered with water. Half of all vertebrates on Earth are water dwellers.

In the name of the highest justice, it is possible to come up with a proposal to rename the planet Earth into the planet Water, because the inhabitants of rivers, lakes, seas and oceans can be considered its main owners. The secrets of the underwater world attract people. Therefore, every year in different countries new aquariums (aquariums) appear, where you can see real wonders behind thick glass.

Ocean! He always attracted people with his harmonious beauty and many secrets hidden under the water column. The oceans are striking in their grandeur, the world hidden in its azure waters is unique and incredibly interesting. The underwater world is perhaps one of the most beautiful wonders of the world. We have compiled an excellent selection of 30 pictures of the underwater world, as well as a story about where these wonders meet.

Of course, not every sea you can see colorful fish and corals, but where they are, you should definitely visit. Therefore, today we will talk about the places where you can find the most extraordinary underwater world. There are not very many such places and they are known all over the world, and divers generally come there for a long time and try to take more underwater pictures.

So, we will see the most diverse underwater world in the Galapagos. These distant exotic islands are located to the west of Ecuador to which they belong. The Galapagos emerged from the crust of a volcano located at the bottom of the ocean, and thanks to this, the richest underwater life has developed on coastal reefs, as well as in remote places. In addition, the Galapagos are also famous for the animals that inhabit the terrestrial part of the islands. Amazing islands from all sides!

There are incredibly beautiful places in more accessible regions for Russians. The Red Sea is home to amazing underwater life. It is in the northern part of the Red Sea that the most diverse fauna in the world is located. Here you can see over 100 species of coral, over 600 species of fish, as well as countless sea stars and algae.

The Palau Islands, which are part of the Philippines, are home to some of the most beautiful fish in the world. These islands are renowned for scuba diving as the water is very warm all year round.

The famous Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral system in the world. Far from Russia, but worth a visit. More than 1000 islands belonging to Australia form a unique ecosystem, where over 3000 reefs with their unique underwater inhabitants can be found. Unfortunately, the Barrier Reef suffers from the number of tourists who do not always throw out garbage, and also interfere with the natural balance in every possible way.

And our hit parade ends with our native Lake Baikal. Yes, yes, despite the fact that it does not fit into a tropical paradise with many fish and coral, it also has a unique underwater life. Baikal is the oldest lake in the world and also the deepest. There are many northern fish here. Only experienced divers dive into the cold waters of Lake Baikal, because the depth here comes very abruptly, and not everyone can withstand it. This place of power is loved by tourists from all over the world.

These are the reservoirs that keep incredible life. And we advise you to look at the beautiful fish!

When we are preparing for another trip to the sea, many questions always arise. The first and foremost question is where to go?

There is no definite answer to this question. Everything is determined by your requests and capabilities. It is very good when our desires match our capabilities! And, of course, chance plays an important role here. This is exactly what happened with us last time, when the next physics congress was held in the jungles of Thailand. It may seem somewhat strange to someone that we came to the jungle for the conference with a mask, fins and all the necessary equipment for underwater filming, but we did not think so. Ahead of us were 2 weeks of vacation, and we dreamed of having a rest with pleasure on the sea coast after the conference.

Before the trip we studied the Internet very carefully. The closest sea to us was in Pattaya, but Pattaya, dirty in all respects, was not taken into account. There were also not very flattering reviews about Koh Samui because of the transparency (or rather opacity) of the water, but we wanted to combine diving and snorkeling, and for photography we needed at least 10-15 meters of visibility. For reference: Experts have identified the ten most picturesque islands on the planet. Phi Phi Islands (Thailand) became the top of the top list. They are located in the Andaman Sea, between Phuket and the mainland, and are part of the Krabi province. We are familiar with these places, as we have been here before, and we really like them. Without hesitation, we fly to Phuket, and then by ferry to Phi Phi.

For three years of our absence, almost nothing has changed here. Only a few new hotels were added, the old ones were improved, and the beaches and nature around remained the same. As before, we stopped again at Long Beach, at the Paradise Hotel on the very shore of the best beach. Moreover, since the main purpose of this year's trip is diving, snorkeling and underwater photography, there are simply no better places for this. Near the beach, very close to the coast, there is a triple reef Shark Point, i.e. a place where you can find reef sharks, where they have regularly come to feed for many years, and perhaps decades. These places are also loved by moray eels, whose predatory mouths are always open, and at any moment they are ready to rush to their prey. This year I met here right on the beach, two dozen meters from the coast of stingrays, whose spikes are very dangerous if you accidentally step on it! If you add poisonous sea snakes, huge and no less poisonous jellyfish to this company, as well as a myriad of hedgehogs, then for those who love thrills, extreme and adrenaline rush, this is what they need.

Scuba divers are getting ready for diving. I'm on the left. The transparency of the water is about 15 meters.

Seascape at a depth of 5 meters

Corals come across and the first fish are found

The word "coral" in our mind is always associated with something hard and fragile, as in these pictures, although there are soft corals.

Anemones are not plants, but marine animals from the coral polyp class. This is soft coral

Spherical coral Brainwormresembles brains in shape, hence its name

A type of brain coral, unfolded in a spiral. In the middle are intricate structures that resemble half-opened scrolls of ancient manuscripts that created the polyps of the lamellar coral.

Vascular corals

These corals resemble mushrooms at the bottom of the sea

This coral is called Acropora... It comes in different colors: green, beige, brown, white, and possibly other shades too.

Coral reef

This is also a close-up coral

It is very beautiful to observe jellyfish under water in their free soaring - one thing must always be remembered, do not touch them with your hands. Just in the water and especially under water, you should always be a little more careful when meeting any species of flora and fauna, including jellyfish.

Sea urchins are one of the most common and very dangerous inhabitants of coral reefs for humans. The body of a hedgehog the size of an apple is studded with 30-cm needles sticking out in all directions. They are very mobile, sensitive and instantly react to irritation. If a shadow suddenly falls on the hedgehog, he immediately directs the needles in the direction of danger and puts them together in several pieces into a sharp, hard lance. Even gloves and wetsuits do not guarantee complete protection against the sea urchin's formidable rush. The needles are so sharp and fragile that, having penetrated deep into the skin, they break off immediately and it is extremely difficult to remove them from the wound. In the photo, one of the representatives of sea urchins - diadem... It looks very nice, but after 26 of his needles dug into my leg, my attitude towards him changed dramatically. For those who will suffer the same fate, I can give useful advice on how to be treated in this case. I was taught this remedy by the natives, who plucked a lemon, rubbed it into my leg, and then, to enhance the effect, began to drive in lemon juice with a beer bottle. An hour later, the pain went away, however, the needles remained in the leg to this day. I don’t know what will happen to them later. I hope that they will come out themselves over time.

Another representative of 940 known species of hedgehogs with white needles and a black star in the center.

And these hedgehogs are located in the nodes of the crystal lattice, very reminiscent of the structure of table salt!

The largest Blue starfish - harmful and dangerous

Cushion star TOulcita- beautiful and safe

Tridacna is a genus of bivalve molluscs that are abundant in the tropical waters of the Andaman Sea.

Sometimes there are such mollusks with a shell, the length of which is close to two meters, and the weight reaches 250 kilograms, but I came across mostly small specimens, but very beautiful in different colors and shades.

This young tridacna, and when it grows up, it will be very dangerous. If you touch the inner surface, then the flaps slam,
and you will not be able to free your arm (or leg). As well as surfacing with such a load.

In this photo, the shell did not have time to slam shut, and the mollusk itself is clearly visible

Where there are corals, there are coral fish of all kinds

A flock of blue-eyed!

Flock of mullet

A school of fish lit by the sun

These variegated multicolored parrot fish remind the political map of the world!

This is not in an aquarium, but in the sea, and the sea is literally boiling with fish! The most common family in coral reefs six-lane sergeants!

Surgeons striped

The fish is called " surgeon" because at the base of its tail are "surgical instruments" - retractable scalpels - sharp bone plates that the fish uses in case of defense or attack. It would be interesting to see on the counter of a canned food store called "Pickled Surgeon"

Surgeons come in a wide variety of colors and shades. It's a blue white-breasted surgeon

Kabubapennant from the family of butterfly fish. Why it is called "kabuba" I do not know, but the pennant is clearly visible on the dorsal fin. The fins of this fish are like the wings of a butterfly. Magic! Beauty! You can't invent it on purpose, but nature has created it! These fish, like women, the more beautiful - the more poisonous!

A fish-Pfrighten... An amazing feature of this fish is that the teeth do not stand separately, but have grown together, so the jaws of this fish are very reminiscent of a bird's beak. Moreover, the parrot fish is very brightly colored and beautiful!

A fish-ANDngel. These fish lead a solitary life, never forming large concentrations. More incredible combinations of the brightest colors are not found in any other fish in the world. Blue, red, emerald, orange, golden yellow, lemon, charcoal are just a few of the colors that adorn angel fish. There are more than 70 types of angels, I met one of the most beautiful - the Imperial Angel!

I have not been able to identify this predator with a red eye yet.

Curious Arotron (black dot). When a threat arises, the arotron is able to swell and double in size. This is due to the intensive ingestion of the surrounding water by the fish. When the fish calms down, it releases water and takes on its normal size.

And this Arotron painted, it belongs to blowfish. These fish are usually in no hurry, because, firstly, they are poisonous, secondly, they can scare a predator by swelling like a ball (in English they are called: puffers), and thirdly, their invertebrate prey is also in no hurry. Puffers can swim backwards as well as sideways. They resemble balloons, and not because they are round, but because they seem to float according to the will of the current. Therefore, it is easy to remove them, but it is almost impossible to resist.

This prey is clearly too tough for him - it cannot swallow, but it is a pity to throw it away!

Needle from the family SVISTULKOVX... (Fistulariidae) The body of the whistle is strongly elongated, flattened. The snout is long, tubular, used by fish like a very effective pipette for picking up food. Alternately expanding and narrowing the snout, the whistle fish quickly draws small animals into its mouth, which it feeds on.

Close-up a fish-whistle... These fish always attract attention with their unusual appearance - long, up to one and a half meters, with huge jaws, leisurely swimming near the corals. Their names in different languages indicate their resemblance to wind instruments: in Russian it is fish flute, in English - cornet.

Sea snake - ringed flattail... The snake's body has a bright bluish background, along which wide black rings alternate. The ventral side is colored in lighter bluish-yellow tones. This snake is found in large numbers on coral reefs and in the surf. Stylish and super poisonous! The poison of this handsome man is several times more toxic than any of the most powerful venom of a land snake. However, the ringed flaptail is very peaceful and will only bite in self-defense if you try to step on it!

Fish stone orDevil Scorpion... Very dangerous and poisonous. There is no antidote. It is difficult to notice it, since it is very similar to a stone and is inconspicuously colored. Disguises well, rarely occurs. The back of the stone fish is decorated with 13 thorns. Sensing danger, she raises thorns. One has only to accidentally touch such a pebble, as the fish immediately plunges its spines of fins, and there are poisonous glands in them. More than 120 people die from the poison of this fish annually in Australia alone.

Stingray... Armed and dangerous! He did not like photography with flash very much, and after the third frame he began to attack me, he had to retreat. Most likely it was a female, and she simply did not have time to put herself in order and prepare for the photo session.
