Rayong is a promising resort in Thailand. All about rest in Rayong, Thailand

 • 29.09.2020

I was going to see the beaches of Rayong. Rayong is a city near Pattaya. It is there that the Ban Pee pier is located, from where ferries leave.
Rayong is a city on the coast, the beaches are stretched for many kilometers. And I was very interested in why it does not become a semblance of Pattaya, why there
few tourists travel and is the infrastructure developed there?

Rayong Beaches - photos and reviews

Masha had a tennis tournament in Raoing, so we combined business with pleasure, having gone to the tournament, at the same time and looked at all the beaches of Rayong.
What can I tell you? Everything is sad. Great, great place, but first things first.

Rayong beaches - photo, location, review

Rayong Beaches - photos and reviews

The beaches of Rayong stretch across the entire city and suburbs for almost 100 km. Beaches follow one after another: Hat Laem Chaeroen beach, Hat Mae Rampueng beach,
Hat Seng Chan, Ban Phe fishing village.

All the beaches of Rayong, if you are on your own transport, are easy to see in one go. Much like Beach Road or Jomitien Beach in Pattaya. In the sense that
on the right is the beach and the sea, and across the road there are hotels and cafes.

Unlike Pattaya, it is very calm there, there is little transport, there are no tourists at all, from the word at all. That is, some Thais.
I had high hopes on the beaches of Rayong, as this is a good option for the whole family. Not as far as - no need to take a ferry, rent a hotel, pay a fee to visit the reserve.

I wrote about our trips to Samet Island from Pattaya :

And it takes only 30 - 45 minutes to drive from Pattaya. About 60 km.
But, everything turned out to be very, very neglected.

Rayong - why do beaches look like garbage?

Rayong Beaches - photos. It's very sad to look at

This question has been plaguing me for several days. Amazing. People (Thais), God gave such a beautiful place. Wonderful, fertile nature (Rayong is one of the most important agricultural
regions of the country, very fertile land), a magnificent beach, a beautiful, turquoise sea, and mountains, MOUNTAINS of rubbish.
Rayong's beaches are one big dump.
If you think I'm exaggerating, then no. Compared to the beaches of Rayong - ".
I can assume that I was unlucky, we got into some kind of abnormal low tide, but I'm afraid that's always the case here. Will explain.

such “finds” at every step. Full of sharp seashells, traffic jams, in my opinion it is dangerous for a child.

All the beaches of Rayong (and we drove literally the entire coast, stopped several times, photographed, looked closely), littered with garbage.
In addition, the garbage brought by the sea - sauces, bags, slippers, shampoo and deodorant cans, etc. there is still rubbish that
people bring to the beach: gobies, scraps and wrappers, other traces of life.

Rayong Beaches - photos and reviews

The beaches themselves in Rayong are very beautiful: white powdery sand, turquoise transparent sea, in general, everything is like on Samet. But there is simply no living place from garbage.

You can swim in the sea.

Since the water is clear, it is clear that there is not a lot of garbage in the sea itself, there are places where you can swim. But if you thought to come there to rest,
it's not worth it. Otherwise, a terrible disappointment awaits you.

Beach infrastructure - prices in Rayong

To as and everywhere, there are a lot of sun beds and tables for them. The price for a sunbed is 30 baht, if you order food in the same cafe - then 20.
In a cafe, prices are normal, I would say cheap. Rice with chicken, pad thai with shrimps, main Thai dishes cost around 45-50 baht.

Large bowl of Tom Yam soup - for several people - 150 baht.

Tom Yam in Rayong is delicious !!!

They also sell inflatable toys, sand sets, everything that is usually sold on the beach.

S am Rayong seemed abandoned to me. Rather, its beach part. Front line hotels and condos, mostly empty, literally -
The 35-storey building stands completely rebuilt, but not residential, it was not even glazed, but it has been there for a long time.
There are small hotels on the shore. They don't look very good. The price of hotels on the first line of the beach in Rayong, on the booking costs from 1000 baht. They are
do not stand at all. Well, in general, with such beaches, there is no point in staying there. Or rather, these are not even hotels, but small bungalows.

Of course we bought, took pictures, but it was torment, not rest. Such people amaze me. You have built a cafe, you sit and wait for tourists who are not there,
but it never occurred to me that it was worth taking a big bag and at least removing your section of the beach ???

sunbed with umbrella in Rayong - 30 baht. There is not anyone. They are in no hurry to clean

This also applies to the coastline behind the road. Basically there are bushes of weeds, which are one large cesspool.
If you look at the photo from afar, you can see how beautiful it is here. But a person can turn even the most beautiful place into a pigsty.

Dasha liked it very much) Children, they are so spontaneous. The sea is great! Is it dirty? No, I haven't seen

How to save on insurance?

Overseas insurance is needed. Any admission is very expensive and the only way not to pay out of pocket is to choose an insurance policy in advance. For many years we have been making out on the site, which give the best prices for insurance and the selection together with registration takes only a couple of minutes.

P.S. I do not exclude that we were somehow especially unlucky, and we got into such a period that ALL-All the beaches of Rayong were littered with garbage. Maybe this season?
I would be interested to hear comments from people who were there shortly before us or after us, after March 2015. Has anything changed or not? For the better, I mean.
I myself will definitely go, in a month, for example. See what has changed.

Rayong is the main city of the province of the same name on the coast in the eastern part of Thailand. Modest beaches are scattered throughout the province and are quiet intimate pieces of paradise for those who want to hide in peace, without driving too far from the capital. Monsoon months allow lush forest vegetation and orchards to grow here, which bear fruit especially abundantly in May, so lovers of durians, rambutans and mangosteen try to time their arrival in Rayong to this time. And when the monsoon season ends, at the end of October, the clear and calm waters off the coast attract lovers of sun-sea relaxation.

Rayong is a 100 km long sandy coastline, many small fishing villages, clear sea, palm groves and rainforests. Coral reefs and many quiet coves attract snorkeling and fishing enthusiasts.

The pearl of Rayong is the island of Ko Samet, which is even depicted on the coat of arms of the province. It is small and not particularly civilized, but it is part of the national park, and the nature here is extremely rich and untouched.

In addition, Rayong is the only resort in Thailand with geothermal and mineral springs.

A nice snack of fresh seafood in between sunbathing can be found in numerous restaurants on the Laem Charoen beach (5 kilometers from the city).

Neighboring islands

The most famous attraction of Rayong province is Samet Island or Kaew Phisadan Island, at the mere mention of which a radiant picture of the coast with perfect white sand, azure water and delicate palm leaves from the advertisement for the Bounty bar rises before your eyes. In addition to splashing in the turquoise waters, tourists are actively exploring water sports and coastal coral reefs. From here, Ban Phe is just 6.5 kilometers away.

To the archipelago of the Mun islands, consisting of the three islands Mun Nai, Mun Klang and Mun Nok, you can take a boat ride from Laem Mae Phim, which will take about 50 minutes, and the round trip will cost THB 500.

Rayong does not indulge in a busy nightlife: its main feature is excellent beaches. However, during the harvest in late May - mid-July, there is a whole series of vibrant festivals and folk holidays.

Rayong entertainment and attractions

Dok Krai Reservoir, the center of development projects under the auspices of His Majesty King Bhumipol Adulyadej in the fields of agriculture, fishing, irrigation, land and animal breeding, is located in Daeng District, 35 kilometers from Rayong City. At the Center for Fisheries Research and Development of the Eastern Seas, in the city of Ban Phe, the Aquarium is popular. A huge number of beautiful fish, cuttlefish, crabs, giant clams and horseshoe crabs are enclosed in glass and steel structures. In the adjacent hall of the Museum of Fossils and Fossils, the remains of rare animals: the humpback dolphin and the Irrawaddy dolphin will surprise those who are especially curious. Rayong Aquarium is open from Wednesday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:00, on weekends from 10:00 to 17:00.

The best photographs can be taken at Wang Kaew Cape, once at the peak of its tourist fame, but still retaining its picturesque beauty. You will have to overcome 38 kilometers from the city.

Rayong parks and gardens

One of the greatest collections of trees and a variety of plants in Thailand can be seen at the Sobha Botanical Garden. Address: st. Phe road in Muang area, 17 kilometers from the city and 3 kilometers from the ferry to Koh Samet. Ancient Thai houses, nestled among tropical vegetation, host exhibitions of antiques and various Siamese art.

Coolness and silence await tourists weary of heat and excursions in Suphattra Land, a fruit and botanical garden near the city of Rayong (18 km). Durian, red rambutan and dark purple mangosteen grow here. The garden is opposite Ban Mab Tong School in Bankhai District of Rayong Province.

5 things to do in Rayong

 1. Have a picnic in Suan Son Park, which is 1 km from Ban Phe and known as the Casuarine (Pine) Gardens.
 2. Visit the cave temple where a copy of the Buddha's footprint is kept. To do this, you need to get to the turn on the 288th kilometer on the Sukhumvit road, then another 12 kilometers to the 60 Khao Wong caves.
 3. During the Chinese New Year celebrations, lean against the huge family tree at Lum Mahachai Chumpon Temple, built to commemorate King Taksin the Great's short stay in Rayong Province.
 4. On June 26, on the birthday of the poet Sunthon Phu, go to a colorful performance based on his works, and during the Phra Chedi Klang fair, participate in colorful religious processions and sports competitions.
 5. In the fishing village of Ban Phe, you can enjoy unusual seafood delicacies and unique Thai fish sauce.

Rayong temples

As for religious sites, the Pa Pradu Temple is unique, which houses a huge statue of the leaning Buddha. The main difference is the image of the Buddha leaning to the left. Another grandiose Temple Saranat Thammaram is located near the market of the city of Klaeng and is interesting for one of the most beautiful ordination halls in the eastern part of the country.

In honor of the "Father of the Royal Thai Naval Forces", the Somdet Krommaluang Shrine was built near the Prasair Delta in the Klaeng area. Turn on the 278th kilometer, driving along the Sukhumvit road, then another 9 km - and you are there. Another quiet original Buddhist temple, fanned by the sea winds from all sides, will awaken amazing sensations. It is located in the fishing village of Ban Kon Ao, 22 kilometers from the city.

Interesting is the Pra-Chedi-Klang-Nam Pagoda, located on the island of the Rayong River, as well as the Hao Wong cave of 80 separate chambers full of stalactites and stalagmites.

Rayong does not indulge in a busy nightlife: its main feature is excellent beaches. However, during the harvest season, which falls in late May - mid-July, a whole series of colorful festivals and folk holidays take place there.

As part of today's article, we will tell you about the beautiful Thai city of Rayong and present a complete description of these places.

Rayong is located in the east of Thailand, and is the center of the east coast. Small beaches are scattered throughout the province and are secluded and tranquil pieces of paradise on earth near the city. The monsoon season is favorable for abundant greenery, trees and gardens, which peak fertility in the last month of spring. Therefore, we strongly advise all lovers of exotic fruits to go here at this time of the year. But by the middle of autumn, the rains stop, and the season for sunbathing, swimming and all kinds of beach holidays opens. The center of the province is the city of Rayong of the same name.

Rayong has hundreds of kilometers of sandy shores, an abundance of fishing villages, clear water and dense tropics. Quiet bays and corals attract connoisseurs of diving and fishing with their delights.

Ko Samet Island is a real attraction in this area of Thailand. It is his image that is on the coat of arms of the province. The small and pristine island is part of a national park.

Another interesting fact is that only Rayong has geothermal and mineral springs.

Road to Rayong

There are several options for overcoming the path:

 • Aircraft. An hour flight from Koh Samui or an hour and a half flight from Phuket will save a lot of time, but not money.
 • Car. The journey from the capital of Thailand along the main road or Sukhumvit highway to Rayong will take at least three hours. If you take a taxi, you will have to get at least four thousand rubles from your wallet
 • Shuttle Buses. Buses leave from the capital of Thailand every half hour from 4 am to 10 pm. The road will take about three hours. Back to Bangkok, buses leave from the bus station from half past four in the morning until nine in the evening. The fare will be three hundred rubles

Rayong beaches

Now let's talk about the coastline of this province. Many stunning lagoons, sandy shores and coves populate this place, which attracts crowds of tourists with its unique landscapes. Hat Fayun and Hat Fala, located near Koh Chang, are perfect for swimming. It is about thirty-five kilometers from the city. The fantastically beautiful Mahe Ramhueng beach stretches for ten kilometers along the coast.

It is worth highlighting the most popular Hatsaitong Beach, which means golden sand. If you look at the landscape of the beach in reality, the name is in no way inferior to the form.

If you are a passionate lover of seafood, then definitely Hat Laem Charoen will appeal to you.

A settlement known for being the crossing point to Samet. Ban Phe has a good seafood market.

For those who are looking for peace and quiet on the trip, it is best to go to Suan Son, which is within walking distance of the village of Ban Phe.

It is also full of island beaches that still defy the "heavy leg" of civilization. You can get to them exclusively by swimming, but it is better to rent a boat. There are beaches with quite good infrastructure, where there are apartments, shops and what is needed for a "quiet" resort life.

The rapid development of this area began in the late eighties of the last century, when the first enthusiastic tourists began to arrive here. This served as the impetus for a giant leap forward in the development of infrastructure and the area as a whole. Fortunately, the nature in these places is so virgin, unique and pure! But every year the number of visitors is growing, and we can only hope that this will not cause the destruction of the local landscape.

In Rayong, there is no "noisy" nightlife at all. Its main advantage is its excellent beaches. Although lush and colorful festivals and national holidays are held here from late spring to mid-July.

Transport

The city car fleet is a songteo and motorcycle taxi. The fare for the songteo is ten baht. A funny fact is that all routes are written in Thai, and it is often impossible to understand where and how the songteo goes, since most of the drivers do not speak English.

From this, only one conclusion can be drawn: The simplest and most reliable option would be to rent a car.

Motorcycle taxis' bases are located near crowded places, except for beaches. These are shops, shopping and entertainment centers, hotels, etc.

Rayong neighbors

The first in line is the island of Samet, which was mentioned just above. Luxurious snow-white coast, crystal water and palm trees ubiquitous in Thailand. In addition to swimming in the azure of local waters, there is an opportunity to do active rest.

The second in line is the archipelago of the islands of Mun Nai, Moon Klang and Moon Nok, where you can go by renting a boat for one thousand rubles round trip.

It is easier and more profitable to go from Laem Mae Fima, the road from which to the archipelago will take the notorious fifty minutes.

Entertainment

In the Daeng area, about thirty-five kilometers from the center, there is the Dok Kray reservoir and the center for the optimization and development of the agricultural complex. Fabulous landscapes will be a stunning backdrop to educational excursions.

In the research center, you can go to the Aquarium, where you will see such a huge number of species of marine life that it really becomes scary how people are not alone on the planet! Nearby there is a museum of fossils of the remains of rare animals.

Lovers of shopping will find great shopping in the village of Ban Phe.

As for capturing all the beauty of these places in the photo, the choice should be stopped at Cape Wang Kaev. A long time ago, it enjoyed unprecedented popularity among tourists, but was able to pass the test in thousands of pairs of visiting feet and retained the virginity of nature.

Top 5 things from seasoned tourists

 • Go to the temple, which still houses the foot of the Buddha. More precisely a copy of it
 • Have a picnic at the Casuarine Gardens located in Suan Son Park
 • On the night of Chinese New Year's Eve, be sure to lean against the family tree at Lum Mahachai
 • Visit a vibrant production based on the works of Sunthon Phu. In addition, take part in processions and sports tournaments during the Phra Chedi Klang fair
 • Savor amazing ocean delicacies at Ban Phe Village

Rayong temples

A unique attraction is the Pa Pradu Temple, because it is here that the leaning statue of Buddha is installed. The Saranat Tammaram temple has no less magnificent image.

Prices and hotels

Standard hotels in Rayong have three or four stars. For the season, it is worth booking rooms well in advance of your arrival here. The difference in the cost of living is quite tangible.

It starts from one thousand rubles and ends at around four thousand rubles per person.

Rayong province is located. Its administrative center is called exactly the same. Lovers of solitude will appreciate their holidays in Rayong, Thailand. Prices, beaches, activities and attractions will be remembered for the whole year.

In addition to the mandatory documents, which are required on every trip abroad, make all their photocopies and place them in different places of luggage. If possible, stock up on cash; it is best to take euros with you, not dollars. For the latter, the exchange rate is very unstable, depending on the denomination of the bill. Do not forget to bring air tickets and several copies of them. Also put them in different places so that they are always at hand.

Be sure to take care of health insurance. Try not to skimp on it. After all, it is not known how things will turn out on vacation in 2019, you can get infected with some kind of tropical disease. Stock up on a first aid kit, put on antipyretics and drugs for food poisoning. Be sure to take hygiene products with you, hotels do not always provide them for free. The same goes for beach towels.

Take care of UV protection. At the same time, take a cream with a high degree of protection against various types of ultraviolet rays. In this country, tanning will stick to your body very quickly and serious burns are possible. Pack your camera, flash drives, chargers, batteries and more in advance.

How to get there?

The most convenient way to get to Rayong is by plane. The way to the city's airport from Koh Samui will take you 1 hour, and from Phuket it will take 20 minutes longer. If you like to travel by car, you can go from Bangkok by taxi. The trip will take about 3 hours and will cost you about 4000 rubles.

For budget travelers, a trip by an intercity bus can be advised. This transport often departs from Bangkok from a station called Ekkamai. The break between flights is about 30 minutes. For such a trip, you will pay about 270 rubles.

Where is the best place to stay?

This region of the country began to develop in the tourist direction quite recently. Mostly tourists who are accustomed to vacationing in the more developed area of Pattaya go here on vacation in 2019. For this reason, while resting in Rayong is pleasant, everything here is neat and clean.

The hotels in this area are mostly three or four stars. It is better to take care of a free room in advance and book it well in advance. This advice is especially relevant for those tourists who are going to go to Rayong during the high tourist season. At the same time, do not be surprised by a strong price gap. There are rooms for 1100 rubles and 4000 rubles per person per night. The question of how much a room costs must be decided in advance and individually.

Beaches

Throughout the province, you can find small, secluded beaches that are heavenly places perfect for a relaxing, secluded getaway. They are intended for those who wish to combine the noisy capital life with tranquility and solitude. The tropical climate makes orchards and forest vegetation especially abundant during the rainy months. Therefore, already in May, it is full of local fruits. By the beginning of November, the monsoons recede, clear weather sets in and the time for a sunny beach holiday begins.

For swimming, we advise you to go to Hat Phayun Beach or Hat Phala Beach. They are located on the island of Chang, the distance from them to the city is a little more than 30 kilometers. The Hat Mae Rapueng Beach, which stretches for 10 kilometers between the villages of Ban Tapong and Ban Kon Ao, is especially beautiful. The distance from this beach to the city is 11 kilometers. This beach is one of the objects of the national park belonging to the island of Samet.

Not far from the city, just five kilometers from it, is the Hat Lem Charoen beach, where you can have a good snack. The food here is mostly fresh seafood prepared according to local recipes. Here, next to this beach, there is another wonderful place for relaxation - Hat Seng Chan beach. This place is great for both swimming and relaxing. It has its own seafood and fresh fish restaurants and resorts.

In this province, the island called Samet is considered the most famous attraction. This place is a picture from the famous Bounty advertisement. In addition to swimming in the clear turquoise waters, the main entertainment of vacationers is considered to be all kinds of water sports, as well as diving among coral reefs. From this beach to the place where the village of Ban Phe is located, a little more than six kilometers.

Very entertaining excursions conducted on the islands of the Moon archipelago. You can go there using a boat. Depart from Laem Mae Phim Village. In just under an hour, you will arrive at one of the islands of the archipelago. Such an excursion will cost about 900 rubles.

What is a province?

This area is a wonderful piece of paradise with a 100 km line of sandy beaches. Here you will find tropical forests, palm groves, clear sea and exotic Thai villages. There are a lot of coral reefs and cozy small coves in the sea, attracting connoisseurs of good fishing and scuba diving to these places.

On the coat of arms of this province, you can see the outlines of the island of Ko Samet, which is rightfully recognized as the pearl of Rayong. This island is small and not adapted for human habitation on its territory. But this does not prevent him from belonging to the composition of the national park, thanks to the rich untouched nature. In addition, Rayong is famous for its mineral waters and the only geothermal springs in the country.

sights

There is a lot to see in the city of Rayong and its surroundings. There is a special reservoir 35 kilometers from the city of Rayong. It is the center of special development projects under the auspices of the King of Thailand and developing agriculture, animal husbandry and fishing. Here you can visit educational excursions.

In Ban Phi village, we recommend that you visit the aquarium with amazing marine life. Here you can admire amazing fish, crabs, cuttlefish and other animals. An open-air aquarium is home to several species of turtles. In another room, you can view the remains of fossil marine inhabitants. This place can be visited from Wednesday to Sunday. In the same village you can buy the freshest seafood. Their prices are very low here.

In Rayong itself, there are several botanical gardens that will be interesting to walk. For example, Sobha Botanical Garden has the largest collection of a wide variety of plants from all over Thailand. Here you can also appreciate the works of art of the Thai people, having viewed the exhibition in one of the ancient houses, buried in tropical vegetation.

Fruit plants are collected in the Suphattra Land Botanical Garden. Here you can see the purple mangosteen, durian, and red rambutan.

Rayong is a fairly well-known province and place. It stretches along the coast of the Gulf of Thailand for 110 km and has a total area of 3500 sq. km. The capital is the city of the same name, located 190 km from and 65 km from. The closest regions to the province are Chantaburi and Chon Buri.

The nature of Rayong is a combination of forested mountains, waterfalls, numerous fruit and rubber plantations and countless beaches. The province is one of the most important agricultural producers in Thailand, with large plantations growing vegetables and fruits all year round. The region is the main supplier of seafood - numerous fishing vessels bring rich catch to Bangkok and the provinces every day. Prices for fruits and seafood in local markets are also not high.

You can get to Rayong from Bangkok by bus, travel time is 2.5 hours.

The main thing that attracts foreigners here is the local Thai flavor, uncrowded beaches, lack of crowds of tourists, developed infrastructure with hotels, shopping centers, shops, markets. In Rayong, the beaches stretch for tens of kilometers, so everyone will find a place to their liking. The most famous are located near the city, these are: Laem Charoen, Saeng Chan, Mae Ramphueng. Phayun and Phala beaches are located a little further.

The development of Rayong began in the late 1980s, when the first tourists appeared here. Since the beginning of the 90s, the city has developed at a tremendous pace, and today this area is a fairly developed industrial center with hotels, supermarkets, shops, banks and restaurants.

Despite this, Rayong is very different from its closest neighbor - Pattaya, with its turbulent, discos and affordable girls. It is a quiet place and is more suitable for couples and those who like a relaxing holiday. However, if you wish, you can have a fun evening here, just the nightlife is not so noticeable, it is not paraded like in Pattaya or Bangkok.

Rayong city on the map of Thailand

Who should go

Going to Rayong is for those who like city rest, but who want to find a middle ground. Those. those who do not want too fast pace and nightlife in Pattaya, but at the same time do not want to live in purely Thai towns that are located in the neighborhood (Siracha, Sattahip, Chonburi) and where the tourist infrastructure is not so developed.

Rayong offers a fairly large selection of beaches and hotels near them. There are massage parlors, restaurants (including Western food), shopping centers (Tesco Lotus, Central Plaza), shops, markets, attractions (National Park, temples, etc.), entertainment (Aquarium, cinemas). The city has a large selection of fresh seafood and fruits, prices are quite low and are designed for locals, not tourists.

Rayong is worth going to those who do not want to live in a tourist place where most Thais are trying to cheat you for money. Here people are not spoiled by foreigners and are still very friendly.

And now about who will not like this resort. First of all, it will be boring for lovers of nightlife, discos, bars and hot spots with accessible girls. Also, the city will not appeal to those who like to swim in the clear sea and generally love bounty. Such people should go to the islands, where there is complete relaxation and clear sea (the closest ones are Ko Lan, Ko Samet and Ko Chang). And in Rayong, there are quite a few factories located right on the coast next to the beaches. Naturally, everything merges into the water and it cannot be as clean as on the islands.

Also in Rayong, public transport is not very developed. Rather, it is there, but the routes are laid in the interests of the local population, and not tourists who want to move between beaches. Without your own motorbike or car it will be difficult here to go to markets, shops, beaches and attractions. And almost all city transport is labeled in Thai, and the drivers hardly speak English.

So, let's summarize. Rayong is worth going to those who like city rest, and not island. Who wants to be able to inexpensively buy groceries, fruits, etc. at Thai prices, not tourist prices.

The resort has enough condominiums where foreigners buy apartments and live for several months. Some even moved to Thailand, but do not want to live in noisy Pattaya.

For retirees or couples with children, Rayong is more suitable than Pattaya. The only thing is that there will be less entertainment for the child. But he will not constantly see transvestites, drunk tourists and girls of easy virtue.

In our opinion, the resort is more suitable for a long stay (from a month) than for a short week-long vacation.

How to get to Rayong

You can get to Rayong by air and land. 30 km from the city center, there is a place where planes arrive daily from Koh Samui, Phuket, Chiang Mai and some others. From there to the hotel you will have to take a taxi or.

Cheap flights to Bangkok

You can buy air tickets to Thailand as profitably as possible using special search engines that collect data from all airlines.

From Bangkok, the easiest way to get there is by bus, which leaves every half hour from - from 04:00 to 22:00. The fare is about 180 baht, the travel time is 2.5 hours. Buses arrive at the bus station in Rayong, from where you can get to the coast on a public songteo for 15-20 baht.

Directly from Suvarnabhumi International Airport can only be reached by taxi. The fare is from 1500 baht, the journey time is a little more than 2 hours. You can order a taxi at the Public Taxi counter in the arrivals area or. The return cost is about 2500 baht. Therefore, as an option, you can get to the bus station, from there for 180 baht to Ekkamai, and upon arrival, take a taxi and take the meter to Suvarnabhumi for about 200-250 baht. Or from Ekkamai to Phaya Thai station, and then change to the metro line to the airport (Airport Rail Link) for 45 baht.

Buses from Pattaya go to Rayong, you need to catch those that pass along the Sukhumvit highway from Bangkok. Or contact local travel agencies that organize minivans to Koh Samet. They pass Rayong along the way. The fare is about 200 baht. One of these carriers is 35 Group Pattaya.

Tickets are sold at bus stations, travel agencies in resorts and cities, or you can.

Transport

Urban transport in Rayong is represented by songteo and motorcycle taxis. The songthaew cost 10 baht, but it is not clear which route goes where. everything is written in Thai and the drivers often do not understand English. The author of the article only once saw the inscription in English Mae Ramphueng (this is a beach) on a songteo. But this is more the exception than the rule. Some songteos stand next to the beaches, but it is also not clear where they go from them.

In short, if you want to live in Rayong or come here for a day, then you should forget about public transport. The best solution would be either a motorbike from where you are going to this resort. There are almost no rentals here, but if you are staying at a hotel, you can ask the reception about renting.

Moto taxis can only be found near popular Thai destinations, such as shopping malls and markets. They are not on the beaches.

Rayong beaches

The common thing that distinguishes the beaches in Rayong is the lack of people. Only in the evenings and on weekends can you see local residents on the beaches closest to the city. They come here not only to swim, but also to sit in one of the coastal cafes.

The coastline stretches for several tens of kilometers, there are many places where there are no people at all, or any infrastructure in the form of hotels, restaurants and cafes. Since the place is not very touristy, you will not see vendors with food and trinkets on the beach, as in neighboring Pattaya. Nobody pesters here, and almost no one speaks English outside the hotel grounds.

But it is worth understanding that the beaches of Rayong, located in the center of the provincial capital and near it, are not very good due to the fact that there are many factories on the coast. Accordingly, the purity of the water also leaves much to be desired. And they are not removed from the garbage every day.

One of the nearest beaches suitable for swimming is located within the city limits and is called. There are many Thai seafood cafes along the coast. On weekends, it is chosen by the locals who come to relax. Nearby is wild and dirty.

The 10 km long Mae Ramphueng beach is very beautiful, located 12 km from the city center.

Hat Suan Son attracts with pine trees, in the shade of which you can hide from the sultry rainforest. It is located a few kilometers from the town of Ban Pe.
